The danger to American's from a nuclear power plant is two-fold:
- An attack by terrorists at one of the over 100 nuclear plants spread across the U.S. causing a release of radiation.
- An accident or operator error (three-mile island/Chernobyl) causing a meltdown resulting in a release of radiation.
- If you live near a nuclear power plant or east of one (even if it is miles to the west) the danger of exposure to radiation from an attack or meltdown is very real.
